A standalone HRMS that doesn’t talk to the other tools your organization already uses creates more work, not less. Data gets entered twice, communication happens outside the system, and backups are left to chance. Horilla HRMS addresses this through a dedicated Integrations section in Settings, offering built-in support for several widely used external platforms. Here’s a look at what’s available and what each integration brings to the table.
Accessing the Integrations Settings

All third-party integration options are managed from a single location. Click the settings icon in the top navigation bar to open the Settings page. In the left panel, you’ll find sections for General, Base, Employee, Recruitment, Attendance, Leave, Payroll, Performance, Help Desk, and Theme Manager. Below these sits the Integrations section, which expands to reveal five options: GDrive Backup, LinkedIn, LDAP, Google Meet, and WhatsApp.
Each option opens its own configuration panel on the right side of the screen, where you can enable the integration and enter the necessary credentials.
Google Drive Backup

The GDrive Backup integration connects Horilla HRMS to Google Drive for automated database backups. This integration is designed specifically for PostgreSQL databases, meaning it works when your Horilla instance is running on PostgreSQL as the backend. Once configured, it allows your HR data to be backed up directly to a Google Drive account, reducing the risk of data loss and removing the need for manual backup management. If your deployment uses a different database engine, the system will indicate that this feature is not supported.

The LinkedIn integration enables Horilla to connect with LinkedIn accounts for recruitment-related purposes. Enabling it through the toggle activates the LinkedIn Accounts section, where credentials can be added using the Create button. This integration is particularly useful for teams that source candidates through LinkedIn, as it brings recruitment activity closer to the HRMS rather than requiring separate tracking between platforms. Once a LinkedIn account is linked, the recruitment workflow can draw on that connection to streamline candidate sourcing and outreach.
LDAP

LDAP, which stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, is a standard protocol used by organizations to manage user authentication centrally. Integrating Horilla with an LDAP server allows employees to log in to the HRMS using the same credentials they use for other internal systems, such as corporate email or network access. This simplifies access management considerably, since HR doesn’t need to maintain separate login credentials for every employee within the system. It also means that when an employee’s account is disabled in the directory, access to Horilla is revoked automatically without a separate step.
Google Meet

The Google Meet integration connects Horilla HRMS to Google’s video conferencing platform. Enabling it activates the Google Cloud Credentials section, where your Google Cloud project credentials are added to authorize the connection. Once set up, this integration allows meeting links to be generated and associated with HR activities directly within the system. For recruitment teams scheduling interviews or HR managers conducting remote check-ins and performance discussions, having Google Meet accessible from within the HRMS removes the step of separately creating and sharing meeting links outside the platform.

The WhatsApp integration allows Horilla to send communications through WhatsApp by connecting to the WhatsApp Business API. Enabling the toggle activates the WhatsApp Credentials section, where API credentials are stored. This is especially relevant for organizations where WhatsApp is a primary communication channel, which is common in many regions. HR notifications, interview reminders, onboarding instructions, or leave approval updates can be pushed through WhatsApp rather than relying solely on email, improving the chances that messages are actually seen and acted on promptly.
Why Integrations Matter in an HRMS
The value of these integrations isn’t just convenience. Each one reduces a category of manual work or data duplication. Backups that happen automatically mean one less thing for an administrator to remember. Single sign-on through LDAP means one fewer password for employees to manage. Meeting links that generate from within the system mean recruiters don’t need to switch tools mid-workflow. Communication through WhatsApp means employees receive updates on the platform they already check.
Together, these integrations help Horilla HRMS fit into an organization’s existing technology stack rather than sitting alongside it as a separate silo.
Horilla HRMS’s Integrations section covers a practical range of external platforms, from data backup and authentication to communication and video conferencing. Whether your priority is data security through automated backups, streamlined hiring through LinkedIn, unified login through LDAP, or faster communication through Google Meet and WhatsApp, each integration is accessible from the same Settings panel and straightforward to enable. For organizations looking to connect their HR operations with the tools their teams already rely on, these integrations offer a solid starting point.
