Overview of Reordering and Range Filter on the Home Page in Horilla CRM
The Home Page in Horilla CRM serves as the central workspace that greets users after login. It provides an instant overview of business performance through KPI cards, charts, and data tables — all drawn from the modules active in your CRM.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! To make this home page genuinely useful for day-to-day work, Horilla CRM includes two powerful features: the Date Range Filter and the Reorder Layout tool. The Date Range Filter allows users to control which time period the entire dashboard reflects, while the Reorder tool lets each user arrange the home page according to their own working priorities.
Together, these features ensure that every user sees the most relevant information, in the most useful format, the moment they log in.
Overview of Home Page Features
The Home Page includes the following interactive controls at the top-right corner:

- Date Range Filter — filters all dashboard data to a selected time period
- Reorder Button — activates drag-and-drop layout editing
- View All Dashboards — navigates to the full Analytics section
Date Range Filter
Purpose

The Date Range Filter controls the time window applied to every piece of data visible on the home page. When a range is selected, all KPI numbers, charts, and tables update to reflect only the records that fall within that period.
This is useful when:
- Reviewing monthly or quarterly performance
- Comparing activity levels across different periods
- Focusing the dashboard on a specific campaign or project window
Predefined Range Options
The dropdown presents four ready-to-use range options:
- Last 7 Days — Records from the past week
- Last 30 Days — Records from the past month
- Last 60 Days — Records from the past two months
- Last 90 Days — Records from the past quarter
Click any option to apply it. The page reloads immediately with all data filtered to that range. The active option displays a blue checkmark beside it.
To remove the filter and return to all-time data:
- Click Reset Range at the top of the dropdown
Using a Custom Date Range
For specific reporting periods that do not align with the preset options:

Steps to apply a custom range:
- Click the Date Range Filter button
- Click Custom Range at the bottom of the dropdown
- A date input panel opens to the right
- Enter a Start date using the date picker
- Enter an End date using the date picker
- Click Apply
The page reloads with the custom range active. The filter button updates to display the exact dates selected, for example:
Benefits of the Date Range Filter
- View performance snapshots for any period without navigating away from the home page.
- Quickly switch between weekly, monthly, and quarterly views with a single click.
- Set specific date windows for custom reporting or review periods
- Shareable filtered URLs for team collaboration
- All data sections update together — no need to filter each section individually.
Reorder Layout
Purpose

The Reorder feature allows each user to rearrange the KPI cards and the chart and table blocks on the home page into a personal layout. The arrangement is saved to the user’s account and persists across all sessions and devices.
This is useful when:
- Certain KPIs are checked more frequently than others
- A specific chart is more relevant to a user’s daily role
- The default layout does not match a user’s workflow priorities
Activating Reorder Mode
Steps to enter edit mode:
- Go to the Home Page
- Click the Reorder button in the top-right corner
What happens in edit mode:
- Grip handle icons (⠿) appear on every KPI card, chart, and table

- Action buttons appear: Save, Set to default, and Cancel
Rearranging KPI Cards
- KPI cards appear at the top in a horizontal row
- Click and hold the grip icon (⠿)
- Drag the card left or right
- Release it in the new position
Other cards shift automatically, and a preview follows the cursor during the drag.
Rearranging Charts and Tables
- Charts and tables appear in a grid below KPI cards
- Click and hold the grip icon (⠿)
- Drag the block to a new position
- Release to place it
Important Note:
- KPI cards and chart/table blocks are separate groups
- KPI cards can only be rearranged among themselves
- Charts and tables can only be rearranged among themselves
- They cannot be mixed
Saving the Layout
- Click Save after rearranging
- The layout is stored in the user account
- Edit mode closes automatically
- The new layout loads on every login
If saving fails:
- The layout reverts to the last saved version
- No data is lost
Cancelling Without Saving
- Click Cancel in edit mode
- The page returns to the previous layout
- No changes are saved
Resetting to the Default Layout

- Click Reorder
- Click Set to default
- The custom layout is removed
Result:
- KPI cards return to alphabetical order
- Charts and tables return to the system default layout
When to use:
- When new modules are added by an administrator
- When you want to start fresh
Benefits of Reordering and Range Filter
- Personalized home page layout saved per user
