How to Add Fields to Detail View in Horilla CRM
If you’ve ever opened a record in Horilla CRM and thought, “Why isn’t this information showing up here?” you’re not alone. The default Detail View is a good starting point, but it won’t always match how your team actually works.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The good news is that Horilla CRM lets you take control of what shows up in that view. You can add fields, remove the ones you never look at, and rearrange everything to suit your workflow. After configuring it to your preference, moving through records becomes much quicker and more efficient.
Accessing the Field Customization Option
Getting to the customization settings doesn’t take long at all.
Start by opening whatever module you’re working in, Leads, for example. Click into any record to bring up its Detail View, then look for the Fields button sitting in the top-right corner of the page. Click that, and a window labeled Change Detail View Fields will open up. That’s where all the action happens.

Understanding the Field Customization Panel
Before you start moving things around, it helps to know what you’re looking at. The customization window has two main sections:

Header Portion Fields
Think of this as the “at a glance” area, the fields that appear right at the top of the record. Things like First Name, Last Name, Email, Lead Source, and Industry tend to live here. These are the details you want to see immediately, without scrolling anywhere.
Details Tab Fields
This section handles everything shown under the Details tab. It’s split into two columns:
- Available Fields — fields that exist in the system but aren’t currently showing in your view. Company, Contact Number, Annual Revenue, City, Fax. These might be sitting here waiting to be added.
- Visible Fields — fields that are actively displayed in the Detail View right now.
How to Add Fields to the Detail View
Say you want to start seeing a field that’s currently hidden. Here’s how you do it:
- Look through the Available Fields list and find the one you want.
- Hit the arrow icon next to it.
- It’ll shift over to the Visible Fields column.
- Click Save.

That’s it. Refresh the record, and the field will be sitting right there in your Detail View.

How to Remove Fields from the Detail View
Having too much information on the screen can be just as overwhelming as having too little. If there are fields cluttering up your view that you never actually use:
- Find the field under Visible Fields.
- Select the remove arrow next to it.
- It will move back to the Available Fields list.
- Then click Save.

The field will no longer be visible, but it hasn’t been permanently removed. It just goes back to Available Fields, and you can pull it back anytime.

How to Add Fields to Detail View in Horilla CRM
The order in which things appear matters more than people realize. Having to hunt around a record for a specific piece of information slows everything down. If the layout isn’t working for you:
- Go to your Visible Fields list.
- Click the field you’d like to reposition.
- Use the up arrow to move it higher or the down arrow to place it lower.
- Once you’re satisfied with the arrangement, click Save.

The Detail View will update to reflect exactly the order you set.

Resetting to Default Layout
If you want to go back to the original system layout:
- Open the customization window and click Reset to Default.
- Click Save.

Everything goes back to how it looked out of the box.
Field customization in the Detail View is one of those small features that makes a noticeable difference once you actually use it. It’s not complicated to set up, and the payoff of having exactly the information you need, right where you expect it, is worth the few minutes it takes.
Start with the fields you find yourself looking for most often, get those into your Visible Fields, and arrange them in a way that feels natural. From there, it’s easy to keep refining as your workflow evolves.
