Lead Stages are customizable checkpoints that map your entire sales journey—from first contact to closed deal. They answer the critical question every sales team faces: “Where exactly is this lead, and what needs to happen next?”
In Horilla CRM, Lead Stages transform your sales pipeline from a confusing list of prospects into a clear, actionable roadmap. Each stage represents a specific point in your buyer’s journey—whether that’s “Initial Contact,” “Qualification,” “Proposal Sent,” or “Negotiation”—giving your team instant visibility into what actions will move each lead forward.
Accessing Lead Stages in Horilla CRM
Lead Stages can be accessed from the Settings area of Horilla CRM.
- Navigate to Lead Stages by selecting the Settings icon from the top header.
- In the Settings panel, go to the Leads section.
- Select Lead Stage from the available options.
This opens the Lead Stages configuration page, where all stages related to lead progression are listed and managed.

Overview of the Lead Stages View
The Lead Stages screen presents a clear list of all lead stages, helping users quickly review and manage them. Each stage represents a step in the sales process and is displayed in a tabular format for easy management.
When a company is created in Horilla CRM, a pop-up prompts the user to create lead stages, from this pop-up, users can choose predefined default stages and create them, providing a ready-to-use sales flow that can later be customized to match the organization’s specific needs.

Key Columns in the Lead Stages List
- Status Order
This column defines the sequence in which leads move through stages. The order represents the natural flow of the sales process. - Status Name
Displays the name of each stage, such as New, Contacted, Qualified, or Proposal. These names help sales users quickly identify the current position of a lead. - Is the Final Stage
Indicates whether a stage is marked as the final stage. The final stage is used to convert a lead, and only one stage can be set as final. - Probability
Shows the likelihood of conversion for a lead at that stage, expressed as a percentage. This helps in forecasting and evaluating sales performance. - Actions
Offers options to edit or delete a lead stage.
Reordering Lead Stages
Horilla CRM allows easy reordering of lead stages using drag-and-drop functionality in the Status Order column.

Important note: The Final Stage is always positioned as the last stage and cannot be placed between other stages.
Final Stage Behavior
The final stage is a key component of effective lead management. When a lead reaches the final stage:

- The lead becomes eligible for conversion
- It marks the successful completion of the lead lifecycle.
- It ensures consistency across reporting and workflows
- When the Final Stage checkbox is selected, that stage is automatically set as the only final stage, any previously marked final stage is changed to non-final, and the selected stage is moved to the last position in the stage orde
Only one stage can be marked as the final stage, helping maintain a clear and controlled conversion process.
Creating a New Lead Stage
Horilla CRM makes it simple to add new lead stages whenever business requirements change.
Steps to Create a Lead Stage:

- Mark or unmark the final stage
Delete
The Delete option removes a stage from the system.
Deletion may be restricted if the stage is actively used by existing leads, ensuring data consistency.
